Ledger

Recovering a Ledger happens on the seed and passphrase side, not through the device.

Is this your case

Ledger situations we assess

01

You forgot the PIN and the device was reset (or will be) after 3 attempts, but you have the sheet with the 24 words, with doubts about some of them.

02

You restored the 24 words on a new Ledger or another wallet and the accounts look empty: there was probably a passphrase.

03

The device was dropped, got wet or no longer turns on, and the recovery phrase is incomplete or damaged.

04

You used the passphrase attached to a second PIN feature and no longer remember the passphrase text.

05

You inherited a Ledger with the recovery sheet but without the PIN and without knowing whether a passphrase was used.

Materials

What we need to assess the case

None of these items is sent through the form. If the case is accepted, the material follows the channel agreed in the contract.

  • The recovery sheet (24 words), even with missing, smudged or doubtful words.
  • Addresses or transactions of the accounts you want to recover, visible in Ledger Live, block explorers or statements.
  • What you remember about the passphrase, if there was one: length, words, language, use of spaces and symbols.
  • Which networks and accounts were used (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana and others), because each has its own derivation paths.
  • Proof of identity and ownership or legal representation, verified before any technical work.

Process

How we handle a Ledger case

The path is the same as in every other case: triage without secrets, a 30 minute assessment, a proposal, offline execution and an assisted transfer to a new wallet.

  1. Step 01

    Tell us what happened

Complete a short form with the wallet type, the problem and what you still have. Do not submit any secret.

  2. Step 02

    Speak with a specialist

Have a free technical assessment lasting 30 minutes in English or Portuguese.

  3. Step 03

    Receive an initial assessment

Understand preliminary viability, which materials may be required and the next steps.

  4. Step 04

    Authorize the work

After ownership verification and service formalization, we request only what is strictly necessary.

  5. Step 05

    Pay only after a recovery

When successful, you move the assets to a new wallet during an assisted session and pay the agreed success fee.

Viability

What determines viability

Ledger follows the BIP39 standard. Everything the device does with the seed can be reproduced in offline software, which allows hypotheses to be tested without the hardware. What cannot be reproduced is the content of the chip.

State of the recovery phrase
Complete and correct phrase: recovery is immediate, with no work from Vault. Phrase with up to 3 or 4 words in doubt: a feasible incomplete seed case. Phrase completely lost: no path.
Passphrase
If the accounts look empty after restoring the seed, the passphrase hypothesis is strong. Viability follows what you remember about the text, as on the forgotten passphrase page.
Damaged device
A device that will not turn on does not prevent recovery if the seed exists. Vault does not perform physical extraction from the secure element; the recovery phrase is the only path.
Reference addresses
Ledger Live shows addresses per account. Having at least one of them allows seed and passphrase to be confirmed without ambiguity.

Service limits

What we cannot do

  • We cannot recover the PIN or extract the seed from the secure element. A Ledger without a recovery phrase, wiped after 3 wrong PINs, has no recovery path.
  • We do not intervene in the Ledger Recover service; if you enrolled, the procedure is handled directly with Ledger and its providers.
  • We do not recover assets sent to scammers or approved in malicious contracts, even from a Ledger.

Security and confidentiality

Your data is treated as the most sensitive asset in the process.

We minimize data collection for every case. Recovery attempts are performed offline on equipment controlled by Vault, with access restricted to the specialists responsible.

Never send a seed phrase, private key or password to someone who contacts you without your request. Always verify Vault Recovery's official channels.

01

No secrets are requested in the initial form.

02

Work begins only after identity, ownership or legal authority is verified.

03

We request only the material required for the specific case.

04

Recovery attempts take place in a controlled offline environment.

05

You participate in moving the assets to a new wallet under your control.

06

Sensitive files and data are permanently deleted after the case is concluded.

Commercial model

A fee only on the value recovered

The assessment is free. If the seed or passphrase is rebuilt and the assets are transferred to a new wallet under your control, the fee follows the brackets below. Without success, there is no fee.
