Trezor

Recovering a Trezor: the hidden wallet passphrase is the most common case.

Is this your case

Trezor situations we assess

01

The standard wallet looks empty in Trezor Suite and you remember using a hidden wallet with a passphrase, but not the text.

02

You forgot the PIN and the wait between attempts is already hours (it doubles with each error), or the device was wiped after 16 attempts.

03

The recovery phrase has unreadable, missing or misordered words.

04

You use Shamir Backup (SLIP-39) and do not have enough shares, or one share is damaged.

05

The device will not turn on, the screen is broken or the firmware does not boot, and the recovery phrase is incomplete.

Materials

What we need to assess the case

None of these items is sent through the form. If the case is accepted, the material follows the channel agreed in the contract.

  • The recovery phrase (or the Shamir Backup shares), even with doubts about some words.
  • Addresses or transactions of the wallet you want to recover, visible in Trezor Suite, block explorers or statements.
  • What you remember about the hidden wallet passphrase: length, words, language, use of spaces, capitalisation and symbols.
  • The device model and the networks used, because this defines derivation paths and the backup type.
  • Proof of identity and ownership or legal representation, verified before any technical work.

Process

How we handle a Trezor case

The path is the same as in every other case: triage without secrets, a 30 minute assessment, a proposal, offline execution and an assisted transfer to a new wallet.

  1. Step 01

    Tell us what happened

Complete a short form with the wallet type, the problem and what you still have. Do not submit any secret.

  2. Step 02

    Speak with a specialist

Have a free technical assessment lasting 30 minutes in English or Portuguese.

  3. Step 03

    Receive an initial assessment

Understand preliminary viability, which materials may be required and the next steps.

  4. Step 04

    Authorize the work

After ownership verification and service formalization, we request only what is strictly necessary.

  5. Step 05

    Pay only after a recovery

When successful, you move the assets to a new wallet during an assisted session and pay the agreed success fee.

Viability

What determines viability

Trezor follows the BIP39 and SLIP-39 standards, with an optional BIP39 passphrase. Everything the device derives can be reproduced in offline software, which allows hypotheses to be tested without the hardware.

Hidden wallet passphrase
This is the most frequent case. The Trezor passphrase accepts up to 50 characters and is case sensitive. Viability depends on the structure you remember, as on the forgotten passphrase page.
State of the recovery phrase
Complete phrase: restoring on another device is immediate, with no work from Vault. Up to 3 or 4 words in doubt: a feasible incomplete seed case. Phrase completely lost: no path.
Shamir Backup
With insufficient shares, no reconstruction is possible by definition of the scheme. With the minimum number of shares and words in doubt in one of them, the case is assessed as an incomplete seed.
PIN and device
The PIN protects the device, not the seed itself. With the recovery phrase, the PIN is irrelevant. Physical attacks on old Model One firmware have been published, but they depend on model and version and are not Vault's standard path.

Service limits

What we cannot do

  • We cannot recover a Trezor without a recovery phrase or enough shares when the device was wiped or is inaccessible.
  • We do not promise physical seed extraction from the device. Cases with accessible hardware and old firmware are assessed individually, with no guarantee and with operational costs disclosed beforehand.
  • We do not recover assets sent to scammers or approved in malicious contracts.

Security and confidentiality

Your data is treated as the most sensitive asset in the process.

We minimize data collection for every case. Recovery attempts are performed offline on equipment controlled by Vault, with access restricted to the specialists responsible.

Never send a seed phrase, private key or password to someone who contacts you without your request. Always verify Vault Recovery's official channels.

01

No secrets are requested in the initial form.

02

Work begins only after identity, ownership or legal authority is verified.

03

We request only the material required for the specific case.

04

Recovery attempts take place in a controlled offline environment.

05

You participate in moving the assets to a new wallet under your control.

06

Sensitive files and data are permanently deleted after the case is concluded.

Commercial model

A fee only on the value recovered

The assessment is free. If the passphrase or seed is rebuilt and the assets are transferred to a new wallet under your control, the fee follows the brackets below. Without success, there is no fee.
